Lake Erie College Athletics Hall of Fame
Vickie Lynn Ehrlich graduated form Lake Erie College Magna Cum Laude in 1988 with a biology major. Just prior to graduation, she received the Jane White Lincoln Award, presented to the Outstanding Senior Athlete.
She was voted Most Valuable Player for varsity softball in both 1987 and 1988. She was a member of the all-tournament basketball team in 1984. Excelling in the classroom as well as in sports, Vickie was a regular member of the Dean's List, inducted in both Mortar Board and Alpha Lambda Delta, and a recipient of the College's Principal and Athletic Scholarships all four years. She served as president of the College's Italian Club, Il Convivio, in 1987.
After graduating from Lake Erie, Vickie earned her Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University. She then earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Ohio in 1994. She is in training as a family practice resident at Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Carolina Baptist Hospital in North Carolina. She expects to complete her residency in June 1997.
As a family practice resident, she has participated on the sideline as a team physician for high school football during the last two seasons. Vickie is also a captain in the United States Air Force and will serve four years in the Air Force as a family physician after completing her residency.
Among her personal interests are volleyball, basketball, racquetball, running, outdoor activities, traveling, music, and studying Italian language and culture.
The Lake Erie College Hall of Fame Committee recognizes all of the accomplishments of Vickie Lynn Ehrlich with her induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame on April 24, 1996.
