Lake Erie College Athletics Hall of Fame
A member of the inaugural Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team, Keegan Bal helped lay the foundation for the program while establishing himself as one of the greatest players in its history. Over a remarkable four-year career, Bal appeared in 59 games with 58 starts, totaling 127 goals, 69 assists, and 196 points while adding 118 ground balls. His outstanding 2013 season earned him Second Team USILA All-American honors, ECAC Division II Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-ECAC recognition, and a spot on the ECAC All-Tournament Team. He was also a three-time ECAC Division II Player of the Week and finished fourth in NCAA Division II with 83 points during the season.Â
Bal still holds school records for assists in a game (7), career assists (69), career points (196), and single-season points (83), while ranking second in single-season assists and third in both career goals (127) and single-season goals (47). Following his collegiate career, he became the first player in program history to be selected in the National Lacrosse League Draft, going in the third round to the Toronto Rock. His professional career has continued to reflect the excellence he displayed at Lake Erie, most recently earning NLL Offensive Player of the Year honors and First Team All-NLL recognition.Â
As a cornerstone of the program's inaugural team and one of its most decorated student-athletes, Bal's impact on Lake Erie men's lacrosse continues to define the standard of excellence for future generations.
