Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio - The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team had a big chance to get some revenge on Friday night as they were scheduled to take on the Tiffin Dragons for the second time this season. The Dragons got the best of the Storm in the first matchup in Painesville, and this contest would go the same way in Tiffin. Unfortunately, the Dragons came away with a 19-0 win.
The story of the contest was the offensive woes that plagued the Storm the whole way. They would muster up just 8 shots total, and 7 of those were on goal. 3 of those shots would come from Emma Rhoades, and Cassidy Bourne and Shannon Smith would each have 2 shots fail to find the back of the net. Additionally, the Lake Erie offense has been very effective this year from free position shots, and they came up empty on three free position shot opportunities.
Defensively, there were still some bright spots for Lake Erie. Cynthia Saxby tracked down some 2 ground balls for the Storm, and Abbot Brandt would log 5 saves on the day from the goalkeeper position. However, the offensive issues would play into the Dragons' favor as they would pull away with a 19-0 win.
Lake Erie has one final opportunity to get back to some winning ways as they will head over to Findlay, Ohio to take on the Findlay Oilers for their final contest of the 2022 season. That contest is scheduled to be played on Sunday, May 1st at Noon.
