Storm Come Up Short at Walsh

Box Score

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Now that the spring season is in full swing, the Lake Erie women's lacrosse program is looking to find their grove as they have begun Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. They had a great opportunity to do just that as they traveled down to North Canton, Ohio to faceoff with the Walsh University Cavaliers. However, the Storm struggled offensively the whole way, and the Cavaliers went away with a 24-1 win.

Walsh took control of the game early, and the Storm's early-season offensive struggles reared their ugly head again as they did not score in the first half.

In the second, Emma Rhoades would break their scoreless drought early in the third quarter. However, this was not quite enough to spark a Storm surge, and Walsh would come away with their 24-1 win over Lake Erie.

On the stats sheet, it was not all doom and gloom for the Storm. Alongside the Emma Rhoades goal, Isabella Golen had a good performance defensively as she caused 2 turnovers. Abbot Brandt logged another 7 saves for Lake Erie from the goalkeeper position.

Luckily, the Storm have a few more opportunities to get on track as they are scheduled to faceoff with the Ashland Eagles for the second time this season on Sunday, April 3rd. The Eagles defeated the Storm at home earlier this season, so Lake Erie will have their chance for revenge on the road. That contest is slated to begin at Noon at Ferguson Field in Ashland, Ohio.
