Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College Storm women's lacrosse team fell to the Thomas More University Saints, March 18, in Painesville, Ohio, 12-10.
It was the Saints that would strike first in the matchup, jumping out to a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes of play. However, the Storm would quickly retaliate, scoring a goal 13 seconds later and then tying up the contest almost two minutes later.
Throughout the remainder of the game, neither team was able to solidify a comfortable lead, with the scoring margin never going over three points.
Thomas More would start to gain momentum late in the third quarter and into the fourth. The Saints would go on a 4-1 run and extend their lead to 11-8 early in the fourth.
The contest was fought heavily until the final minute, but the Storm would ultimately fall, 12-10. Today's matchup marked a special day for the women's lacrosse program, as it was their first home game since April 20, 2019.
Cassidy Bourne would record her second consecutive hat trick on the season and Erin Snyder would also record three goals in the contest while also adding an assist.
The loss drops the Storm's record to 1-3 on the season. Lake Erie will be back in action, Tue. March 22 at home to host the visiting Ashland Eagles at 6:00 PM.
