Storm Cruises to Win Over Walsh, 19-4

PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team defeated the Walsh University Cavaliers 19-4 in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest to kick off their final homestand of the season. 

Eight players scored for the Storm, led by  Julia Kudla (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) led the Storm (12-4, 6-1) with 10 points on eight assists and two goals. Brittany Rabuano (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) led all scorers with four goals. Meredith Howe (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesville, Dewitt) tallied four points on three goals and one point. Ashriel West (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) and Allison Trombetti (Lewis Center, Olentangy) each had two goals and two assists. Samantha Gryba (Okotoks, Ontario/National Sport Academy) scored three goals while Michaela Schock's (Dover, Del.Caesar Rodney) and Hana Abu-Kwiek rounded out the Storm scoring with two and one goal respectively.

Katie Holden (Whitby, Ontario/Anderson C.V.I) picked up her 11th win of the season in net, making two saves. The Storm defense caused 12 turnovers, led by West's four. Abu-Kwiek led the Storm with five groundballs as Lake Erie led in the category 19-11. 

Mary Myers led the Cavaliers (2-7, 1-6 GLIAC) with two goals while Ivy Meloy had one goal and one assist.

The Storm play their home finale on Sunday (April 28) against Wheeling Jesuit University at 12 p.m.
