PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The inaugural season of women's
lacrosse at Lake Erie College had plenty of positive moments, but
it came to an end on a downer as the Storm dropped its season
finale at East Coast Conference foe Molloy College, 24-4, on Sunday
(May 9).
Molloy (15-2, 6-1 ECC) scored the first 10 goals of the game
before freshman Julie Kudla (Harleysville,
Pa./Souderton) got the Storm (7-7, 2-5 ECC) on the board
10:04 into the contest.
Kudla added another goal in the first half, but Lake Erie was
down 19-2 at halftime.
Kristie Sosnowski led all scorers with seven goals for
Molloy while five others scored at least two goals.
Brittany Rabuano (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) and
Allison Trombetti (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy)
each scored in the second half for Lake Erie.
Lake Erie finished its first season in sixth place in the
eight-team ECC. Molloy finished one game behind regular
season champ C.W. Post in second place.
