Wrestling
Lake Erie opened the season with a strong showing at the Bob Del Rosa Open, finishing second out of 20 teams and just 3.5 points behind first. Five Storm wrestlers earned runner-up finishes: Braden Hahlen (125), Anthony Sagaris (133), Joey Romano (141), Josh Howey (157), and Luke Stuerenberg (285). Romano led the effort with a 3-1 day featuring wins by fall, tech fall, and decision. Jack Harrison (133), Colin Roberts (149), and Vincent Scaramuzzino (184) all added third-place finishes.
At the Findlay Open on the 15th, Sagaris again led the Storm, placing second at 133 with a 4-1 performance. Carsen Richards (141) also placed, taking seventh after going 2-1 on the day.
Volleyball
The Storm dropped their first match of the week 3-1 to Thomas More, though Jasmine Heyward stood out with 15 kills. Lake Erie responded later in the week with a 3-1 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan, powered by a strong showing from Sophia McKenzie to close out the win.
Football
Lake Erie closed its season at No. 20 Ashland, falling 34-14 despite staying competitive throughout. Nick Mosley scored on the ground, while Wrentie Martin hit Devin Morgan for a 52-yard touchdown in the third. Martin threw for 215 yards, Morgan added 125 receiving yards, and Kemari Ward led the defense with 10 tackles. Jalen Joyce added seven tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and a recovery. The Storm finish 2-9, earning multiple G-MAC wins for the first time since 2022.
Men's Basketball
The Storm opened their season 2-0 at the G-MAC/GLIAC Crossover. Lake Erie beat Lake Superior State 96-92 after trailing by 16, sparked by newcomer Gavin Welch, who went 6-for-8 from three, and big late buckets from Trace Bishko and Kai Bloom. Caelum Ethridge added 11 key first-half points, while Amari Williams posted a double-double.
Lake Erie followed with an 88-72 win over Ferris State, pulling away with a 24-7 run in the final minutes. The Storm led early, weathered multiple Bulldog runs, and closed strong on both ends to sweep the weekend.
