With winter weather still affecting travel across much of the Midwest, the Lake Erie wrestling program braved the conditions and traveled up to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a dual meet against Davenport University. The Storm will head back home to Painesville with a strong 45-0 win over the Panthers.
The competition was controlled by the Storm from start to finish as they were able to earn wins at all 10 weight classes, and they did not concede a single team point to their opponents. The highlights of the night were the three bouts that ended in pins from Tyler Swiderski at the 157 pound weight class, John Penfold at the 174 pound weight class, and Brylan Clouse at the 184 pound weight class. This is the first dual win for the Storm since they went 3-1 in duals at the Great Midwest Championship and finished 2nd in the conference overall.
Head Coach Jeff Breese's program will hit the mats again back at home in the Jerome T. Osborne Center, where they are 3-2 in duals this year, when Seton Hill comes to town for a dual meet on Saturday, February 12th at 7 pm.
