The Storm found themselves down early, dropping a close match at 125 and forfeiting at 133. With a 9-0 deficit, Joey Romano stepped up to the mat and delivered a 21-5 technical fall win to put Lake Erie on the board.
Carsen Richards brought the Storm within one point after a 4-2 decision win, and Colin Roberts gave them the lead with an 18-8 major decision win at 157.
At 165, Josh Howey earned a gritty 12-9 sudden victory to extend the Storm lead to 15-9. From there, Lake Erie went on a tear.
At 174, Josh Jordan defeated Darrin Alward 16-1, and Vincent Scaramuzzino quickly took down Colin Campbell via pin in just one minute.
Joey Scaramuzzino followed up his brother's performance with a pin victory of his own at 197, and at 285, Tyler Shellenbarger earned a 15-0 technical fall win to finish off the Panthers and secure a 37-9 victory.
Looking Ahead
Lake Erie will be back in action on Friday, December 5th on the road against #3 Tiffin before coming back home on Saturday, December 6th for a tri-match against Kentucky Wesleyan and #21 Ashland.
