After an extended winter break hiatus, the Lake Erie College Storm wrestling program got back into action with a set of dual meets against NCAA Division III opponents Hiram College and Case Western Reserve University. The event was hosted by Case Western Reserve, and the Storm won both duals with team scores of 50-3 against Case Western and 53-0 over Hiram.
Across the two dual meets, pins were a key part of the Storm's success as they won a total of 8 individual bouts by pin. Additionally, the Storm only conceded one individual bout out of the 16 total bouts they competed in as a team.
With the Case Western Reserve/Hiram event acting as a tuneup, the Storm should be in a great position to compete well in the upcoming Great Midwest Athletic Conference Wrestling Championships on Friday, January 21st, and Saturday, January 22nd. Additionally, the Storm gets to compete for the conference title on their home mats as Lake Erie College is hosting the event.
