(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – The Lake Erie women's basketball team returns back to action Saturday, Jan. 16 as they host Malone (2-7 G-MAC). This will be the second match between the two teams this season. In the first battle on New Year's Eve, the Pioneers downed the Storm 112-63. Breanna Bauer led the Storm with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Sydney Wyngarden joined Bauer in double figures with 11 points and shot 3-4 from behind the arc.
Despite the loss last time out against Tiffin, Lake Erie had four double-figure scorers. Lainey Billing finished the game with 14 points and was joined by the trio of Abby Matalavage, Breanna Bauer, and Dy'Jhanik Armfield who each contributed 11 points.
Saturday's game will be played at the Jerome T. Osborne Center in Painesville, Ohio. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no spectators will be allowed at all home indoor events.
