HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled today to face the Hillsdale Chargers in another Great Midwest matchup. Despite a slo first quarter, the Storm battled hard with the Chargers, narrowly falling 54-50.

Both sides started slow, shooting a combined 25.8% between them. The Chargers put together a few more baskets and held a 13-4 lead at the end.
In the second, both offenses picked up and the Storm narrowed the gap to 29-15 at the half.
The third quarter saw Lake Erie outpace the Chargers 14-12 to trim the deficit and in the fourth, they mounted an exciting comeback, outscoring Hillsdale 21-13 but it would not be enough as they dropped a very close contest on the road.
Grace Lyon led the team with a double-double, scoring 11 points and tallying 10 rebounds while also adding two blocks to her stat line.
Kylie Maxwell also impressed with a team-high 11 rebounds and two blocks to her name as well.
As a team, the Storm played well on the defensive end, out-blocking Hillsdale 7-3 and out-stealing them 11-5Â .
Looking Ahead
Lake Erie will hit the road again on Thursday, December 11th to face the Ursuline College Arrows. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
