Storm Warning: A Weekend In Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.

The Lake Erie College Storm wrestling program is on its way to Michigan for a full weekend of competition. Head coach Jeff Breese has taken the entire squad to Michigan including the ten Michigan natives that will have an opportunity to wrestle in their home state this weekend.

The team will wrestle tonight in a dual at Davenport University. Lake Erie has a 2-1 overall record in their duals, earning wins over Rochester (MI) and West Liberty, currently ranked twelfth overall in the NWCA coaches poll, and falling to the eighth-ranked team in the NWCA coaches poll, Ashland just last weekend. The livestats for TrackWrestling can be found here. The link to watch the dual against Davenport can be found here.

On Saturday, the Storm will compete in the Alma Open. 22 wrestling teams from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and NJCAA will be competing in the tournament. Notable teams include Central Michigan, Indiana, Michigan St., Ohio University (NCAA DI), Davenport, Ferris St., and Grand Valley (DII). The TrackWrestling link for the Alma Open can be found here.

This weekend of competition will serve as a good warm-up for next weekend, as the Storm heads to the G-MAC Duals, hosted by the University of Findlay, as the reigning conference champion.
