PAINESVILLE, Ohio

The Lake Erie College Storm women's basketball team showed up strong against Ohio Valley University in their first home victory of the 2019-2020 season. 

The Storm got off to an early lead scoring their first basket off a fast-break layup just seconds after the tip. The teams were tied twice in the first quarter, but three successful shots from beyond the arc put the Storm in control heading into the second half, and the team dominated the Fighting Scots for the duration of the contest. Lake Erie stretched their largest lead over Ohio Valley in the third quarter (19 points) with the help of a 12-point scoring run.

Leading the team offensively tonight was Storm senior Josie Chaddock. Chaddock recorded 21 points with four assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Starters Breanna Bauer and Ashley West both added five rebounds to the Storm's total of 33. Bauer also recorded 11 points in the contest against Ohio Valley.

Senior Farrah Benner added 18 points off the bench, with a three-point percentage of 50.0% (4-8). Benner also added six rebounds, of which four were defensive boards, and two assists. 

The Storm continues their homestand on Monday, Dec. 16 against Alderson Broaddus.
