(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) –Javarian Smith (Sr., Pontiac, Michigan) and Nate Dantley Jr. (So., Tampa, Florida) had record-breaking days with their play today, but it wasn't enough as Lake Erie fell to a high-octane Tiffin squad 63-35. The Storm dropped to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the G-MAC while the Dragons improved to 7-1 and remained unbeaten and in first place with a 5-0 league mark.

Smith tossed for 469 yards to surpass Sean Bedevelsky for second-most in a single game. Bedevelsky threw for 441 at Findlay on October 23, 2010. Smith's favorite target was Dantley who broke his own record for most yards receiving with 200, 15 more than the previous mark. Dantley also caught 12 passes to put him tied for third in a single game.

Josh Hufstetler (Jr., North Olmsted, Ohio) was another favorite target as he caught five passes for 117 yards. He was on the receiving end of both of Smith's touchdowns, both of which came in a high scoring first quarter and kept the Storm in the game. The first was a 37 yard dime that capped a seven play, 87 yard drive with 3:24 left in the fame. After Tiffin returned the ensuing kickoff back for a score, Smith found Hufstetler again tip-toeing the sidelines for a 55 yard pass-and-catch to make the score 21-13.

The Dragons started the pull away from there with the next two scores, but the Storm did not go away quietly. Eric Zokouri (RS-So., Silver Spring, Maryland) pounded his way into the end zone from eight yards out to cap another long drive for Lake Erie and Justin Smith (RS-Fr., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) kicked a 19 yard field goal at the end of the first half.

Zokouri was just getting started as he capped another long drive to start the second half to put the Green and White and added a third touchdown in the fourth. Tiffin proved too tough to contain, however, as the Dragons were able to answer each score.

Overall the Storm outgained the Dragons 493 to 443 with the bulk of it coming through the air. Smith was 31-of-49 throwing to six different receivers on the day.

Elems Ukwu Jr. (Gr., Landover, Maryland) and Eddie Scott (RS-Sr., Chicago, Illinois) led the defense with nine tackles each. Ukwu had 1.5 tackles for loss as did Justin Growel (RS-Jr., East Troy, Wisconsin) who continues to be one of the nation's leaders in the category. He finished with six tackles on the day with a quarterback sack that went for a loss of 10 yards.

The Storm will close out the home season next week when the Findlay Oilers visit for Senior Day. Kickoff is currently set for 1:30 p.m. Coverage will be available on the Great Midwest Digital Network.
