ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Lake Erie football team took to the road today to take on the #20 Ashland University Eagles to conclude their season. After an early lead by the Eagles, the Storm kept pace the rest of the way and played well, but would ultimately fall, 34-14. Lake Erie finishes their season with a 2-9 record and win multiple G-MAC games for the first time since 2022.

Ashland struck early, scoring on their opening drive. The Storm defense responded with a strong stand on the next series, forcing a quick three-and-out, but the Eagles later added another touchdown for a 14-0 lead.
Lake Erie answered midway through the second quarter with a three-yard touchdown run by
Nick Mosley. Ashland tacked on two field goals before halftime, yet despite the 20-7 score, the Storm defense delivered an encouraging second quarter.
The Eagles pushed the margin to 27-7 early in the third, but the Storm trimmed it again when
Wrentie Martin connected with
Devin Morgan for a 52-yard touchdown strike.
Ashland added one more score in the fourth to make it 34-14, which stood as the final.
Martin went 19-of-31 for 215 yards in the air and
Julian Means-Flewellen led the ground attack with 53 yards on 14 carries. Morgan finished with a game-high 125 receiving yards on six receptions.
On defense,
Kemari Ward led the team with 10 tackles while
Jalen Joyce impressed with seven tackles, one tackle-for-loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
