(UPLAND, Indiana) – Saturday's contest between Lake Erie and Taylor will be the first time they meet each other on the gridiron. The Storm (2-4) will be looking for their third win in four weeks, while the Trojans (2-3) are looking to even up their season after they lost the last two times out.

The game was a late addition to the schedule for Lake Erie and fills the void left open after Malone dropped its program.

The last time out saw the Green and White run over Alderson Broaddus with 320 rushing yards in a 38-24 victory. It was the most rushing yards in a game for the Storm since 2015 when they broke 300 yards at Wayne State. Eric Zokouri led the attack with 212 yards on 30 carries. He leads the team with 535 rushing yards on the season.

Javarian Smith has assumed the role of starter at quarterback and has 1,243 yards passing with 104 completions. He threw for his ninth touchdown last week and ran in another. Nate Dantley Jr. has been the favorite target with 32 receptions and 403 yards with Josh Hufstetler topping the team with five TD catches.

Justin Growel continues to lead the defense with 38 tackles. Fifteen of those have come behind the scrimmage line, a mark that ranks first in the nation.

For Taylor, Zac Saltzgaber will line up under center and has thrown for 625 yards this season. Evan Guckenberger has been the top target with 20 receptions totaling 261 yards.

Most of the Trojan offense has come by the rushing attack. Spencer Crisp leads that area for Saturday's hosts with 379 yards on 87 carries.
