GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Lake Erie College men's and women's swimming team was in action today (February 13th) as they competed in day three of the GLIAC Championships. The women are in 10th place with 73 points, and the men are in seventh place with 146 points after 31 events.
The women were led by Meri Cizmar (Zagreb, Croatia / X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek) who finished third in the prelims of the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 56.32. Cizmar finished with a time of 55.92 in the finals to earn third place honors.
Ivan Cizmar (Zagreb, Croatia / X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek) qualified for the consolation finals in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 51.94. Cizmar's time in the consolation final was 52.45, which took third place in the finals, and 11th place overall.
Yan Milinkovskyi (Zaporozhye, Ukraine / Academical Laceum of Zaporizhia) had a time of 1:54.74 in the 200 yard breast stroke which earned him a spot in the consolation final. Milinkovskyi took third place in the consolation final and 11th place overall, with a time of 1:52.42.
Jordan Krumpelman (Westerville, Ohio / St. Charles Preparatory) qualified for the consolation finals in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:57.06. Krumpelman finished fifth in the consolation final and 13th overall with a time of 4:55.74.
Lake Erie will be back in action tomorrow (February 14th) as they wrap up the final day at the GLIAC Championship meet.
