GENEVA, Ohio – Lake Erie College swimming team competed in a tri-meet against Fairmont and Wheeling Jaesuit on Saturday (January 17th).
The men were led by Ivan Cizmar (Zagreb, Croatia / X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek) who won the 200 yard backstroke in a time of 1:56.51, and he also took second place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 54.51.
Yan Milinkovskyi (Zaporozhye, Ukraine / Academical Laceum of Zaporizhia also had a first and second place finish for the Storm. Milinkovskyi won the 200 yard butterfly and took second in the 100 yard freestyle with times of 1:58.13 and 47.31, respectively. Jordan Krumpelman (Westerville, Ohio / St. Charles Preparatory) took second in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:43.96.
The women were led by Meri Cizmar (Zagreb, Croatia / X. Gimnazija Ivan Supek) who won both the 100 yard backstroke and the 200 individual medleys, with times of 1:00.42 and 2:16.33 respectively.
Brittany Funk (Turlock, Calif. / John H. Pittman) and Vitoria Issaho Dos Santos (Sorocaba, Brazil / Colegio Ideal Sorcaba) each took second place. Funk in the 200 yard butterfly and Dos Santos in the 200 yard back stroke with times of 2:28.78 and 2:18.24, respectively.
The Storm will be back in action when they travel to the GLIAC championships on February 11th.
