GENEVA, Ohio—The Lake Erie College women's swimming team opened the 2014-15 season Friday (Oct. 25) against Saginaw Valley State University and Ursuline College.

The Storm defeated the Arrows 108-52 but fell to the Cardinals 124-69.

Vitoria Issaho Dos Santos (Brazil) led the Storm with two first place finishes.  She was victorious in the 200 freestyle (2:02.90) and the 500 freestyle (5:25.39).

Meri Cizmar (Zagreb, Croatia/X. Gimnazija) had the other first place finish for the Storm in the 200 individual medley (2:17.74).  In addition, Cizmar took second in the 100 backstroke (1:00.07).

Brittany Funk (Turlock, Calif./John H. Pittman) carded second place finishes in the 1000 free (11:55.50) and the 100 (1:07.09) and 200 (2:29.89) butterfly.  Joelyith Humpe (Rayland, Ohio/Wheeling Central Catholic) placed second in the 100 free (59.20) and third in the 50 free (27.10).
