PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- As the 2024–25 academic year comes to a close, attention is already shifting towards the 2025-26 seasons. Lake Erie Athletics has officially unveiled its 2025 fall sports schedules, setting the stage for an exciting slate of competition across the Storm's programs. With fall teams looking to build on last year's momentum and make a statement in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) and beyond, the Storm are ready to charge into a new year of challenges and opportunities to shine.

Adding to the excitement this fall, Lake Erie men's and women's soccer will begin a new chapter as they return to hosting all home matches on campus. The teams will compete on a brand-new turf field located between the Jerome T. Osborne Athletic Center and the student dorms, creating a vibrant home atmosphere right in the heart of campus.

The 2025-26 athletic year will officially kick off on September 4, when the Lake Erie men's soccer team hosts Gannon University at 4 p.m. on the brand-new turf field. The Golden Knights finished 14-4-3 last season, going unbeaten in PSAC play and reaching the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Later that evening, the women's soccer team will take the field for their season opener against Edinboro at 7 p.m. The Fighting Scots went 5-7-4 in 2024 and finished with two non-conference draws against both Malone and Ursuline.

Volleyball opens its season the following day, September 5, at the Hall of Fame City Challenge in North Canton, Ohio. The Storm will square off against Point Park in their opener, a team they edged out in a five-set thriller last year.

Football gets underway on Saturday, September 6, with a high-profile road matchup against defending national champion Ferris State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium, where a retooled Lake Erie squad will look to make an early statement.
