Lake Erie Battles WIth Cedarville in Mid-Week Series

GAME 1

CEDARVILLE - 10
LAKE ERIE - 1

5 Innings

The Cedarville offense got started early but Addison Nugent did a great job in the circle to limit them to just one run in the first inning. In the following innings though, they would continue to slowly add more and more runs.

The Storm got on the board in the fourth inning after Lily Turkowski rocked a double to the left field wall, advanced to third on a Peyton Powers single and crossed home on an RBI single by Emma Spahr.

Kai Mortensen pitched a superb fifth inning to shut down the Yellow Jackets in their only scoreless frame, but the Storm offense was unable to get anymore runs on the board and the game would end in a 10-1 loss after five.

Emma Spahr finished the day going 2-for-2 with a double while Turkowski and Powers contributed the team's other two hits.

In relief, Mortensen finished with two shutout innings pitched, allowing just one hit and striking out one.
