Box Score 2 PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie softball team hosted the Cedarville Yellow Jackets today in another Great Midwest doubleheader. The Storm were unable to come away with a victory and dropped another series at home.
GAME 1

The Cedarville offense got started early but
Addison Nugent did a great job in the circle to limit them to just one run in the first inning. In the following innings though, they would continue to slowly add more and more runs.
The Storm got on the board in the fourth inning after
Lily Turkowski rocked a double to the left field wall, advanced to third on a
Peyton Powers single and crossed home on an RBI single by
Emma Spahr.
Kai Mortensen pitched a superb fifth inning to shut down the Yellow Jackets in their only scoreless frame, but the Storm offense was unable to get anymore runs on the board and the game would end in a 10-1 loss after five.
Emma Spahr finished the day going 2-for-2 with a double while Turkowski and Powers contributed the team's other two hits.
In relief, Mortensen finished with two shutout innings pitched, allowing just one hit and striking out one.

GAME 2
CEDARVILLE - 8
LAKE ERIE - 3
The second game of the doubleheader treated the Storm much better than the first. Despite going down 5-0 early, Lake Erie rallied in the bottom of the second and scored two runs on RBI singles from
Jasmine Gonzales and
Maddie Pawlak.
Cedarville extended their lead to 6-2 in the fifth but the Storm responded with a run of their own on an RBI ground out from
Lily Turkowski.
The Yellow Jackets put up a run in both the sixth and seventh and shut the Storm out the rest of the way to result in a 8-3 loss for Lake Erie.
Emma Spahr,
Samantha Lippiatt and Gonzales all had a two hits in the game with Pawlak contributing the final hit for Lake Erie.

Looking Ahead
The Storm will be back in action on Friday, April 18th against Kentucky Wesleyan before wrapping up their last regular season home series on the 19th.
