Storm Conclude Season in Crestview Hills

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — The Lake Erie softball team concluded their season today with a Great Midwest doubleheader against the Thomas More Saints. The Storm fought hard in both games but dropped each one narrowly.

GAME 1
LEC - 5
TMU - 6

Thomas More scored their first run in the second and extended the lead to 5-0 after a four-run third.

The Storm offense would punch back though in the fourth.

After Madi Eckert and Lily Turkowski earned infield singles, Lillian Campbell singled up the middle to score Eckert and get the Storm on the board, 5-1.

Lake Erie would then make the contest a one-run game after Megan Miller hit a three-run home run, her first of the season and of her career.

In the fifth, Sydney Taylor and Turkowski hit back-to-back doubles, which scored Taylor and tied the game at five.

Both teams had a scoreless sixth and in the bottom of the seventh, the Saints would walk it off after three-straight singles.

Turkowski finished the game going 3-for-4 and Taylor, Campbell, and Miller each had two hits in the contest.

GAME 2
LEC - 2
TMU - 4

Game two started as a much slower affair.

Lake Erie scored the first run of the game in the top of the third with a Peyton Powers double to left center field, scoring Vanessa White.

The Saints then put up a three spot in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-1 lead and tacked on one more in the bottom of the fifth.

The Storm got a gift in the top of the sixth with two outs when Powers scored on an error by the Saints first baseman during Lillian Campbell's at-bat, trimming the deficit to 4-2.

This was all the Storm would score though and the game ended with a tough loss to end the season.
