PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Lake Erie softball team hosted the Ohio Dominican Panthers today for another G-MAC matchup and their final home series of the season. After almost coming away with a win in game one, the Storm would end up dropping both games on the day.
GAME 1
ODU - 4
LEC - 3
8 innings
The Storm jumped on the board first and early. Peyton Powers led off the bottom of the first with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Samantha Lippiatt. Lily Turkowski then got ahold on one and lifted it over the right field fence for a two-run home run.
The Panthers got one on the board in the third and tied up the game in the fifth but it didn't take long for the Storm to respond.
In the bottom half of the inning, Lake Erie took advantage of ODU miscues and scored on a dropped fly ball by the center fielder.
In the seventh, with a win just one out away, the Panthers would tie things up and set the Storm up for the chance at a walk-off.
Summer Bliss led off the bottom half with a single to right center field but was thrown out at second on a fielders choice. Two straight pop ups would end the threat though and the game would go into extra innings.
The Panthers would take advantage of some Storm miscues in the eighth to take a 4-3 lead and they held onto it to win game one.
Powers, Turkowski, Bliss, Lillian Campbell, Megan Miller, and Allie Jackson each had a hit in the game while Turkowski pitched a complete game in the circle.
GAME 2
ODU - 8
LEC - 0

Lake Erie began game two by sending the Panthers down 1-2-3 and getting momentum with the bats in the bottom half of the inning with a pair of singles.
The Panthers would then put up four runs in the second and two more in the third to take a 6-0 lead.
The offense was unable to get rolling after the first and a two-run sixth from Ohio Dominican extended the game to 8-0 which would remain the final.
Looking Ahead
