INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- Lake Erie baseball outfielder
Garrett Esposito has been named the Great Midwest North Division Player of the Week for the week of March 24th. This is the first time this season that a Lake Erie baseball position player has received this honor and the first of Esposito's career.
There wasn't much that could stop Esposito this week during the Storm's 3-1 series win over Walsh. He went 9-for-16 (.563) at the plate while hitting three home runs, totaling 9 RBIs, and scoring four runs. His 1.776 OPS on the weekend was essential to the Storm's monstrous performance on day two, when they scored 28 combined runs.
Esposito is now hitting .417 on the year (15-for-36) and holds a 1.308 OPS.
The Storm will be back in action tomorrow, March 25th on the road for one midweek game against Malone before getting back into G-MAC action on Saturday, March 29th to begin a four-game series against Ohio Dominican University.
