ASHLAND, Ohio – The Lake Erie baseball team drove down south to battle the Ashland Eagles during Easter weekend.
Micah Geise would lead the charge in game one, putting up two home runs to take game one 9-7 in 10 innings. Game two would also need extras with the Storm again prevailing 6-3. The Eagles would come from behind in game three and win 5-3. Rain would cut game four short, but Ashland would shut out Lake Erie 4-0 for the series split.

Micah Geise would start the series with a leadoff home run, his third of the season, to put the Storm ahead 1-0. The Eagles would take their first lead of the day in the second, going ahead 3-1. Lake Erie would go back in front 5-3 in the fifth, with an RBI hit by pitch from
Matt Fountain, an RBI single from
Brendan Hazuda, and an RBI sacrifice fly from
Travis Yankovich. Ashland answered back in the bottom half, retaking a 7-5 lead. The Storm would take the first lead of the game in the top of the third with an RBI double from
Matt Fountain. The Eagles would tie the game in the fourth, taking advantage of two Storm errors. Lake Erie would retake the lead in the fifth with
Hunter Aurand scoring on a wild pitch. Ashland answered back in the bottom half tying the game. The Storm and Eagles would need extras for a second straight game with the game tied at two. Lake Erie came out hot in the eighth, taking a 6-2 lead with RBI singles from
Brendan Hazuda and
Dominic Roberts, and a two-run homer from
Hunter Aurand, his third of the season. Ashland would muster across one run in the bottom half, but not enough as the Storm would take a second straight extra innings victory 6-3.

Micah Geise continued his strong series by giving the Storm a 3-2 lead in the fifth with a solo homer, his third of the series and fifth of the season. Ashland would move back ahead in the bottom half 4-3 on one hit. The Eagles would get insurance in the sixth, growing their lead to 5-3. Ashland would hold on for a 5-3 lead in game three.
