Box Score 2 PEMBROKE, North Carolina — The Lake Erie baseball team continued their road games in a double header against the University of North Carolina at Pembroke Braves. The Storm fell in both games, dropping their overall record to 1-12.
GAME 1
The Storm were able to score in the fourth inning with a double to left field from freshman Ty Sowers, sending freshman Hagan Hejduk home. The Braves took over the game, scoring 12 in the first six innings. The Storm tried to fight back with a run in the top of the seventh off of freshman Sean Moore reaching first on a fielders' choice, sending junior Justin Major home. The Braves finished the seven inning game with a 13-2 win.
Freshman Jake Vasil started pitching for the Storm, throwing three strikeouts.
GAME 2
Sophomore Israel Espinosa helped the Storm score their solo run for the second game. Espinosa singed to right center, cashing in an RBI and sending junior Mark Ross home. The Braves were able to hold their lead, and finish with a 7-1 win
The Storm look ahead to their next matchup, facing the Francis Marion University Patriots for a single game at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 7th.
