ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive Teams

Greensboro, NC - Rising redshirt junior Seth Yacobucci was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Midwest Region All-Defensive team, the ABCA announced earlier this summer. 

A native of Tallmadge, Ohio, Yacobucci started 42-of-44 games at second base and finished the season with a .994 fielding percentage. The sport management major registered only one error over 161 chances. 

The slick-fielding Yacobucci racked up 82 assists and 78 putouts on the season. Additionally, he was part of 23 double plays, which ranked ninth in G-MAC.

"Seth had an incredible year for us defensively," Head Coach Shaine Carpenter said. "Being able to almost guarantee that any ball on the ground to second base was an out gave our coaching staff so much confidence. His ability to assist in the creation of double plays helped our pitching staff in so many specific situations."

In two years, Yacobucci has recorded a .990 fielding percentage with just two errors to go along with the 104 assists and 91 putouts. 

Yacobucci and the rest of the Storm will begin preparations for the 2027 season in early September.
