Nashville, Tenn. - The Lake Erie College Storm Baseball team traveled to face the #8 ranked Trevecca Nazarene Trojans this weekend for a four-game series. The Storm were swept in the contest, and their record now falls to 3-24 on the season.

Game 1 - April 8

Game 1 did not get off to a hot start for the Storm as they quickly fell behind 4-0 after a rough beginning of the game by starter Alvin Resner IV. Resner would be pulled in the fourth after giving up six earned runs on the day. Evan Barnes would come in to finish out the inning and then pitch the fifth where he would be replaced the next inning by Avery Anderson down 13-0.

Lake Erie would get its lone two runs in the top of the 9th with a Nick Puzzonia RBI single and Mason Eicher scoring on a wild pitch the next at-bat.

Game 2 - April 8

Things would start off similarly for the Storm in the second game as they quickly surrendered five runs in the first and fell down 6-0 at the end of two. Lake Erie would get on the board in the top of the third when Trevor Smentekwould hit into a fielder's choice. Graham Solak would add two more with a two-run double, cutting the Trojan's lead in half by the end of their turn in the third.

Each team would keep scoring the next couple of innings and the Storm would end up being down 11-7 by the end of the sixth.

In the top of the seventh, Lake Erie would get one last shot to turn the game around and they ended up making Trevecca sweat.

In the top of the inning, the Storm would put together singles and walks to load the bases for Robert Helt. He would end up drawing a walk to force a runner home and still keep the bases loaded.

Josue Cruz would single in a run the next at-bat, and Mason Eicher would follow suit to bring the Storm within one.

With no outs, Trevecca would sit down the next three batters and close out a tight game with a final score of 11-10.

Game 3 - April 9

After their close matchup the day before and two bad starts, the Storm would shut down the Trojans in the first inning. Tragedy would soon strike though as they would surrender 11 runs over the next two innings and squeak out their only run in the top of the fourth with a sac fly by Robert Helt following a Solak triple.

Lake Erie would give up twelve more runs on the day, making the final score 23-1.

Game 4 - April 9

Lake Erie got off to a hot start in the final game of the series, managing to put up three runs in the first inning, thanks in part to a two-run triple by Mason Eicher.

Things would take a turn in the bottom half of the inning as the Storm surrendered five runs.

By the end of the fifth Lake Erie would be down 14-4. Two more RBIs by Trevor Smentek and Mark Ross would make the score 14-6 but that is all the Storm would be able to score and the final score would be 16-6.

The Storm will be back in action on the road April 15-16 against Hillsdale for a four-game series.
