Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Ohio - After earning their first conference win on Saturday, the Lake Erie softball program got right back at it as they were slated to take on the Ohio Dominican Panthers for a Sunday afternoon doubleheader. The games went as follows:
Ohio Dominican 4, Lake Erie 0
In the first of the two contests, the Storm struggled with the Panthers' pitching as they could not find a hit for the whole contest. In fact, Lake Erie could only get three runners on base the whole contest. The Panthers would take control of the game with three runs in the first inning and would maintain that advantage to the 4-0 win. In the circle for the Storm, Carly Rowland would get the start, and Emma Spahr would come in for relief.
Ohio Dominican 3, Lake Erie 0
Lake Erie would get the bats going in the second contest. Peyton Brownlee would single in the first, and Bridget Mullholland would follow that up with a single of her own. Chloe Allen would also add another base hit in the 5th, but the newfound hitting success would not be enough for the Storm to gain the advantage over the Panthers. Grace Hammer would have a decent day in the circle for the Storm as she added 5 strikeouts on the day.
The Storm softball team will get right back to it as they will head up to Erie, Pennsylvania for their second matchup this season with the Mercyhurst Lakers on April 5th. The first of the two scheduled contests will begin at 2:30 pm.
