PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The weather finally cooperated this weekend and the Lake Erie College Storm Baseball team got their first home series of the season in at Classic Park. The Malone Pioneers came into town with a 13-24 record and would take three out of four games from the Storm. With the conclusion of this series, Lake Erie's record now falls to 4-31 on the season.

Lake Erie looked like they forgot about their game 1 woes early as they played competitive ball throughout most of the game.

Despite giving up two runs in the top of the second, the Storm would rally back and knock in three runs to take the lead in the bottom half.

Robert Helt would get that inning going with a solo home run and later Trevor Smentek would drive in two more with a two-run single.

Things would continue to go their way until the top of the 6th inning when they surrendered four runs and then two mor ethe next inning, making the final score 9-3.

Malone would strike first in the top of the inning but Robert Helt would strike again, blasting a two-run home run to give the Storm the lead, 2-1.

After surrendering two runs and the lead in the top of the third, Lake Erie would string together a series of hits and walks and score three more in the bottom of the fifth.
