Storm Finishes 19th in Midwest Classic

The #19 Storm wrestling program was on the road December 17-18 to compete in the 43rd annual Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis. As a team, the Storm would finish 19th out of 43.

The Storm would put on a decent showing on the weekend, with Christian Small (141) leading the way. Small would go 5-1 and finish 3rd in his weight class, falling to the eventual winner Zeth Brower, the 2022 NCAA National Champion by fall 2:59 in the semifinals.

Vincent Scaramuzzi (197) would also have a nice day for the Storm, going 3-1 on the weekend. Jacob Johnson (125), Ryan Wehner (133), Jack Haskin (157), and Jacob Potok (165) would all go 2-2 respectively, while Jordan Barnett (184) and Austin Fietz (149) would go 1-2 and Honour Kline would go 0-2.

The Storm will be back in action on January 6th as they compete against Cleveland State in a special benefit night for assistant coach Andrew Bearden.
