Box Score 2 (Painesville, Ohio) – The Lake Erie College softball team split the afternoon with the Cedarville Yellow Jackets. Grace Hammer led the Storm in game one with 10 strikeouts, holding the Yellow Jackets scoreless in the 2-0 win. Cedarville took game two with a final score of 4-3.
Game One
Grace Hammer started game one in the circle for the Storm. Hammer recorded an impressive 10 strikeouts, securing the win for the Storm. Hammer only allowed four hits while facing 26 batters.
Jaime Carpenter started the first inning with a single to second. Brownlee followed with a fly ball to second base. Allen followed by reaching first on a fielder's choice to second as Carpenter was out at second. Smith got on with four straight balls, advancing Allen to second. The inning was ended as Buck flew out to centerfield.
Morgan Smith started the second inning with a single to left field. Soria followed with a walk, advancing Smith to second. Carpenter singled to third base advancing Soria to second and Smith to third. Brownlee drew an RBI walk scoring Smith, advancing both Carpenter and Soria. Allen ended the inning with a grounder to third.
Smith started the fourth inning with a walk and Jordyn Hawkins came in to pinch run for the Storm as the Yellow Jackets made a pitching change. Hawkins advanced to second on a passed ball. Jordyn Long followed with a sac bunt to third advancing Hawkins to third. Soria followed with an RBI single to center scoring Hawkins.
Game Two
Grace Hammer started game two in the circle for the Storm. Hammer pitched two innings recording three more strikeouts. Bridget Mullholand came in to start the third inning in relief. Mullholand recorded a solid five strikeouts giving up only two hits.
Brownlee reached first on a walk to start the first inning. Allen followed with a single to left field, advancing Brownlee to second. Kiya Smith reached first on an error by the shortstop which scored Brownlee and advanced Allen to third. Smith stole second and Allen stole home to score the second run of the inning. The Storm was scoreless in the second, third, and fourth inning.
Jaime Carpenter singled to center field to start the fifth inning. Brownlee grounded out to the pitcher, advancing Carpenter to second. Kiya Smith hit an RBI double to center field scoring Carpenter to take the lead 3-0.
The Yellow Jackets were scoreless until the sixth inning when they scored three runs to tie the game. They scored the game-winning run in a hard-fought seventh inning.

The Storm is set to host the Ohio Valley Fighting Scotts this Sunday. The conference matchup is set to start with game one at 1 p.m followed by game two at 3 p.m.
