Box Score 2 (Indianapolis, IN) – The Lake Erie Storm softball team fell to the Greyhounds in the doubleheader this afternoon. The Greyhounds took game one with a final score of 6-1 followed by game two with a final score of 10-0.
Game One
Grace Hammer started in the circle during game one for the Storm. Hammer recorded 5.0 innings pitched. In the five innings, Hammer recorded four strikeouts, giving up nine hits to the strong Greyhound offense. Carly Rowland came in to finish the game for the Storm recording 1.0 innings pitched. During that inning Rowland recorded one strikeout, giving up only one hit.
Kiya Smith led the Storm offensively in game one at the plate going 1-2 with a home run to left field in the second inning. Leah Buck also had a strong game at the plate going 2-3.
Game Two
Bridget Mullholand started game two in the circle for the Storm. Mullholand recorded 2.0 innings pitched with one strikeout, giving up six hits. Carly Rowland came in relief recording 2.0 innings pitched striking out three, giving up three hits as well.
The Greyhounds had a strong offensive and defensive game as the Storm was unable to gain any momentum in game two. The Storm recorded two hits in game two. Chloe Allen recorded the first hit of the game in the first inning up the middle. Hit two came from Jesse Carpenter down the left-field line.
Game two was delayed by 90 minutes due to lighting.

The Storm is set to host the Cedarville Yellow Jackets this Friday, April 9th. This Great Midwest matchup is set to begin at 3 p.m. followed by game two at 5 p.m.
