Box Score 2 (Evansville, IN) – The Lake Erie softball team split day one at the 2021 Midwest Region Crossover defeating Davenport 9-3.
Game One: Purdue Northwest
The Storm had a rough first game of the weekend as they fell to Purdue Northwest 8-0. The Storm was unable to generate momentum throughout the game as they ended with a solo hit.
Grace Hammer pitched the full game recording nine strikeouts, giving up 12 hits.
Game Two: Davenport
The Storm blew past Davenport gaining their second win of the season with a score of 9-3.
Carly Rowland got her first win of the season as she pitched the full game, recording six strikeouts. Facing 30 batters, Rowland only gave up seven hits.
Leah Buck showed up for the Storm offensively as she homered early in the first inning. Buck had three RBIs going 2-4 at the plate. Cameron Malkamaki recorded two-hits in the win. Many Storm players recorded a hit of their own in the win.
