Box Score 2 (Painesville, Ohio) – The Lake Erie softball team fell to the Ohio Dominican Panthers tonight. The Panthers won game one 14-2 in six innings followed by game two 6-4.
Game One
Carly Rowland started the game for the Storm in the circle. Rowland recorded 4.0 innings pitched with two strikeouts. In her four innings, Rowland gave up six hits that the Panthers produced into seven runs. Bridget Mullholand came in relief for the Storm recording 2.0 innings pitched. Mullholand recorded two strikeouts, giving up six hits that the Panthers produced into another seven runs.
The Storm was hitless until the sixth inning when they scored their two runs. Kiya Smith started the sixth inning getting to first by a walk. Smith then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Leah Buck came up strong for the Storm with a two-run home run. The Storm ended game one with five hits.
Game Two
Grace Hammer pitched game two for the Storm. Hammer recorded three strikeouts giving up seven hits to the Panthers.
The Storm was hitless until the sixth inning. Buck started the inning with a single to left field. Buck advanced to second on a passed ball. Jesse Carpenter followed with a single to center field which advanced Buck to third. Jordyn Hawkins reached first one a fielder's choice to short, as Carpenter was out at second on the play, Buck scored the first run for the Storm!
The Storm tried to battle back late in the game with a three-run rally in the seventh. Payton Brownlee started the seventh with a single to right field. Chloe Allen followed with another single to right, advancing Brownlee to second. Jaime Carpenter followed with a single to second base which advanced Allen to second and Brownlee to third, making it bases loaded. Smith followed with an RBI single to left field scoring Brownlee, advancing Jaime Carpenter to second and Allen to third. Again, bases loaded. The Panther's changed their pitcher with bases loaded. Buck hit a 2 RBI double to left scoring Carpenter and Allen, with Smith advancing to third. The Storm finished the seventh inning with six hits.

The Storm will be back in action this Friday, April 2nd as they travel to Ursuline College. The doubleheader in Pepper Pike, Ohio is set to start with game one at 1 p.m. followed by game two at 3 p.m.
