Box Score 2 (Owensboro, KY) – Lake Erie softball dropped a pair of games in the Blue Ridge Classic on Friday afternoon on the opening day of the 2021 season. The Storm fell to Ferris State 3-8 and dropped game two of the day to Northwood 13-1.
GAME ONE
Sophomore Grace Hammer pitched the first game of the season versus Ferris State. Hammer had an impressive 10 strikeouts on the game. The Storm had a tough third inning where they gave up six runs of the eight total runs to the Bulldogs.
Lake Erie was unable to generate any momentum in the contest as the Storm was held to just three runs on six hits.
GAME TWO
After falling in game one, the Storm moved on to face Northwood University, in the second game of the day.
Sophomore Carly Rowland pitched the first three innings of the second game of the tournament versus Northwood University. Rowland recorded four strikeouts while giving up 5 hits. Bridget Mullholand came in as relief recording two strikeouts giving up 3 hits.
Northwood's defense had a good game, allowing only four hits by the Storm in the five-inning game.

The Storm will be back in action tomorrow, Feb. 27th at 10 a.m (EST) against Notre Dame followed by game two at 2 p.m. (EST) versus Southern Indy.
