Storm Rolls Over AB In First Win of G-MAC Tournament

MASON, Ohio- The Lake Erie Storm baseball team won their first game of the postseason with an 11-0 run-rule against the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers this evening.

The game was scoreless until the third inning until junior second baseman led off the bottom half of the inning with a single. With two outs, Trace Peterson hit a two-run home run to left field and the Storm took a 2-0 lead.

They struck again in the fourth, scoring four more runs when Rees Rua and Anthony Jackson hit back-to-back singles followed by a home run by Sam Browning, and a double by Caleb Waller.

In the fifth the Storm added five to the board on two hits and two errors, bringing the score to 11-0, the final score.

Ryan Middendorf pitched a complete game shutout, getting seven innings of work allowing four hits, two walks, and earning six strikeouts.

With the win, the Storm stays alive in the G-MAC tournament and will continue to play tomorrow at 10 am on field 2 at Prasco Park.
