(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – A second day in Stark County didn't bode well for Lake Erie as it fell in a twin bill to Walsh by scores of 7-6 in eight innings and 9-5 on Tuesday afternoon. The Storm fell to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference while the Cavaliers improved to 4-14 overall after their G-MAC opener.

The Storm were in the thick of it throughout the day. In the opener, the Green and White jumped out to a 5-2 lead after four innings before the Cavs rallied to tie the game in the sixth to force extras. Alyssa Johnson highlighted the game with a two-run shot in the second inning to tie the game. Taylor Phillips then put Lake Erie ahead thanks to a solo shot in the fourth.

Johnson wasn't done and added to the lead thanks to a single down the third base line to score Rachel Ward. Payton Brownlee capped the big inning with a bases-loaded walk.

After Walsh tied it up, Lake Erie took another lead thanks to a Chloe Allen RBI single that plated Leah Buck. However the hosts were able to answer in the bottom of the frame and eventually won with a walkoff single in the eighth.

The nightcap saw the Storm take the initial lead with a two-run second frame, but Walsh roared back to take a 6-2 lead after four. Both teams equaled three runs in the fifth.

Both teams hit well with each combining for 22 hits.

The Storm are schedule to return to action this weekend in their home opener against Alderson Broaddus on Friday. First pitch with the Battlers is set for 3 p.m.
