Lake Erie Travels to Charleston (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College baseball team will take a break from non-conference play with a makeup game against the University of Charleston (W. Va.) Golden Eagles on Wednesday (April 5). The Storm will take on the Golden Eagles at 2:00 PM.

Storm Report: Lake Erie is 7-17 overall this season and a 2-10 in the GLIAC. The Storm dropped three of four games at home against Saginaw Valley over the weekend. Wes Birchmeier (Miamisburg, Ohio / Miamisburg) leads the team with a .363 batting average, 29 hits, 11 doubles, five homeruns and 24 RBI.

Opposition Position: Charleston has an 18-9 record this season after a doubleheader sweep of Wheeling Jesuit on Sunday. Nick Wilson is the leading hitter with a .412 batting average.

Series History: Lake Erie holds a 5-2 series advantage over the Golden Eagles. The teams last played in the 2012 season, where the series was split with each team winning one game.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will resume GLIAC play with a road series at Northwood University starting on Saturday (April 8).
