ERIE, Pa.—The ninth-ranked Lake Erie College wrestling team fell to Gannon University 36-14 Tuesday (Jan. 26) in Erie.
After the Storm forfeited 125-pounds, Austin Gillihan scored a 16-0 tech fall in just over three minutes against Aaron Smith at 133-pounds.
However, the Golden Knights went on a run, winning the next six matches.
Brenden Scherer (Fresno, Ohio/River View) got the Storm back on track with a 4-3 decision against Nigel Toussaint at 197-pounds.
Noah Hosking (Milford, Mich./Milford) finished the dual with a second period pin against Gunner Loughman in the heavyweight match.
The Storm is back in action at home February 6th against the University of Findlay and Kutztown University.
