PAINESVILLE, OHIO - The Lake Erie College softball team ran into
hot pitching in its season-opening games at the Rebel Spring games
outside of Orlando, Fla. on Sunday (Feb. 28). The Storm was
shut-out in both games, falling to the University of Mary 10-0 in
the opener and West Virginia Wesleyan College 8-0 in the second
game.
In the first game, the Storm did not get a hit off the Mary's
Ashley Watson. Watson struck out four and walked four in the
five-inning complete game.
Against WVWC, Lake Erie managed three hits- one each by junior
Brittany Sostre (Parma, Ohio/Valley Forge), sophomore Haley Rathge
(Edon, Ohio/Napolean) and freshman Erica Tanski (Painesville,
Ohio/Riverside).
The Rebel Spring Games continue on Monday, March 1, when the
Storm (0-2) plays a pair of games. Lake Erie will play the
University of Holy Family at 9 a.m. and Lewis University at 1 p.m.
