Volleyball Falls to Findlay

Painesville, Ohio - The Lake Erie College volleyball team fell in four sets to the visiting University of Findlay Oilers on Saturday afternoon. 

Findlay took the first set 25-17, but Lake Erie responded with a 25-23 win in the second. However, the Oilers answered back with 25-14 and 25-11 wins. 

Allison Kirch, who had a team-high four aces, led the Storm with 12 kills, while Sadie Nawrocki added 10 finishes of her own in the setback. 

Kylie Anderson delivered 31 assists and 10 digs, while Bella Kessler paced the back row with 19 digs. Kirch's all-around effort also included 12 digs. 

The Storm settled in during the second set, jumping out to 4-1 lead on three straight aces from Kirch. The Oilers were able to fight back and level the set at 17-17. However, LEC wouldn't succumb to the adversity as Lake Erie took its first set from Findlay since 2023. 

Unfortunately, Findlay would reassert itself over the next two sets to run its 6-5 overall and 3-1 in G-MAC play. 

With the result, Lake Erie fell to 5-6 and 3-2 in league action. 

The Storm's five-match homestand continues on Tuesday night when Walsh University comes to town for a 6 p.m. conference clash.
