INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) has officially announced its men's basketball awards for the 2025-26 season. Lake Erie walked away with two major honors: Amari Williams earned All-Conference First Team, and Kai Bloom earned All-Conference Second Team.
Amari Williams — First Team All-Conference
Williams, a 6'3 junior transfer from Indian River State, took over the reins as the primary guard for the Storm and took full advantage of his opportunity, helping lead Lake Erie to its best season in nearly two decades. Williams has scored 413 points so far this season, the most in a single season since Gabe Kynard in 2019-20. He ranks 11th in the conference in points per game (14.3), top 40 in rebounding, tied for 6th in three-pointers made (63), 8th in assists (3.1), 25th in blocked shots, and 8th in steals (1.3).
Williams does everything the Storm need from him, primarily operating the offense in the halfcourt when things become stagnant. In January, he had a three-game stretch where he scored 70 total points, including a team season-high 29 points against Ohio Dominican.
Kai Bloom — Second Team All-Conference
In his second year with the Storm, Bloom was tasked with a much larger role and improved in just about every way possible. Perhaps the most athletic player on the team, Bloom is the Storm's most dangerous weapon in transition, resulting in easy offense and a team-high 54.5% field goal percentage.
Active on defense, Bloom ranks 6th in the conference in steals, leads the team in rebounding, and greatly improved his assist-to-turnover ratio from the year prior. Additionally, he became a more reliable three-point shooter, going from 7-for-40 (17.5%) last season to 13-for-43 (30.2%) this year, adding another element to his game. Bloom is an asset in every area of the court and fills every role Coach Conley needs.
