NORTH CANTON, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled on the road this evening to take on the Walsh University Cavaliers in another Great Midwest competition. The Storm were unable to overcome the Cavaliers hot shooting and they fell, 88-44.
Game Recap
The first quarter was unkind to Lake Erie, as they had a hard time finding an answer to the Cavaliers defense and hot shooting.
They managed to keep pace with them in the second, being narrowly outscored 18-17 and shooting 50% from the field, but they carried a 44-19 deficit into the half.
The Storm defense picked up in the third, holding Walsh to their lowest shooting percentage of the game. Lake Erie finished the game strong though, shooting 42.9% from the field in the final quarter of play.
Grace Lyon, Sophie Chipps, and Delani Robinson led the team with seven points each. Megan Mares recorded two blocks in the contest to lead the defensive end.
