MIDLAND, Mich. — The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled up to Michigan today for a matchup against the Northwood University Timberwolves. The Storm outscored the Timberwolves in two of the four quarters but were unable to take home a road win, falling 79-53.

Shooting efficiency carried the Storm in the first quarter as they shot 40% from the field and 50% from deep, ultimately outscoring the Timberwolves, 14-12.
They struggled to get off shots in the second quarter, managing half of what Northwood shot. They were outscored 18-9 and held a 30-23 deficit at the half.
The offense picked up in the third quarter but Northwood continued to keep scoring.
After a pretty even fourth quarter, the game would finish with a tough road loss for the Storm against a good Northwood team.
Kylie Maxwell had a monster game for Lake Erie in the paint, grabbing a career-high 15 rebounds and accounting for exactly half of her team's rebounding total.
On the offensive end, Grace Lyon led the way with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and Sophie Chipps scored 12 on a perfect 4-for-4 from the field including 3-of-3 from deep.

Lake Erie will be back at home for the next three contests, starting with a match against Thomas More on Saturday, January 24th at 1 p.m.
