Storm Battle Back in Road Loss to the Oilers

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team took to the road tonight to face the University of Findlay Oilers for another Great Midwest matchup. Despite a slow start, the Storm battled back and competed hard the remaining way and falling short, 70-59.

Game Recap
The Storm were unable to get anything going in the first quarter, while the Oilers had a very strong quarter.

With a 23-4 deficit at the end of the quarter, the Storm dug deep and put up an incredible second quarter, outscoring Findlay, 24-15 and cutting the halftime deficit to just 38-28.

The Storm kept pace with the Oilers for the most part, cutting their lead to as little as seven at one point but the game would end with an eleven point loss.

Grace Lyon led the way with a team-high 14 points and six rebounds. Emma Fouch, Kylie Maxwell, Delani Robinson, and Noel Weathers each followed with exactly eight points apiece.

As a team, despite the first quarter, the Storm shot 46.2% from the field and 33.3% from deep.

Looking Ahead
Lake Erie will be back on the road one more time before starting a three-game home stand. Their next contest will be on Saturday, January 17th at Northwood. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
