COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Lake Erie women's basketball team traveled to Columbus today to take on the Ohio Dominican Panthers in another Great Midwest matchup. After a strong start, the Storm struggled down the stretch and fell, 83-53 on the road.

The Storm struck first and the two sides continued to trade baskets, with nine lead changes happening in the quarter alone.
The second quarter was a struggle though, with the team shooting 33.3 percent and scoring eight points while the Panthers rolled on and took a 37-28 lead at the half.
Lake Erie improved their point total in the second half but struggled to hold the Panthers and the game would end with a tough road loss.
Kylie Maxwell led the way with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, while also grabbing five rebounds. Jaicee Wallace led the team in rebounding with a career-high seven boards while also contributing six points.
Looking Ahead
The Storm will continue their road trip with a visit to Findlay to take on the Oilers on Thursday, January 15th at 5:30 p.m. before taking on the Northwood Timberwolves on Saturday, January 17th at 1 p.m.
