Men's Soccer Suffers First Loss on the Road Against Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Lake Erie men's soccer team took to the road today to face the Tiffin University Dragons in another Great Midwest contest. In an always exciting matchup, the Storm would come up just short and fall 1-0. This marks their first loss of the season and they are now 3-1-4 on the season and 3-1 in G-MAC play.

Game Recap

Like most matchups between the two teams, this game was a physical one. They combined for four yellow cards and 21 fouls in the contest. Throughout all the physicality, the Dragons struck in the 40th minute and took a 1-0 lead.

The Storm picked up the pace in the second half, getting off five shots compared to just two in the first. None of them were able to find the back of the net though and they finished with a close loss.

Luka Bekovic and Ido Omaysi led the team with three shots each and Veljko Radovanovic accounted for their other shot.

Goalkeeper David Ruiz Ospina recorded five saves in the loss and raises his save percentage to .778, the third-highest in the G-MAC this season.

Looking Ahead

Lake Erie will be back in action on Wednesday, October 1st on the road against the Northwood University Timberwolves. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
